JMB chief Saidur on 4-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court Monday placed Saidur Rahman, the new chief of the banned Islamist organization Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), on four days police remand for interrogating on one of the charges against him.

Judge Syeda Minhaz um Munira of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court granted the remand in a case filed with Kadamtoli thana under the anti-terrorism law.

The investigation officer, inspector of the metropolitan detective police Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman, petitioned the court for giving the chief militant on a 7-day remand for grilling. The court granted four days, after hearing the plea.
