DHAKA: A Dhaka court Tuesday asked the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to deposit the money and gold ornaments seized following the BDR mutiny and marauding on February 25-26 last year with Bangladesh Bank.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Mohammad Ali Hossain also directed depositing the other seized goods with the CMM Court warehouse.
Ratan Sheikh, general recording officer of the court, told banglanews24.com.bd that a copy of the court orders were Tuesday sent to CID special police super and IO of the case Abdul Kahar Akhand.
During the mayhem by a group of BDR rebels, 74 people, including 57 army officials in command of the border force, were killed during in the BDR Pilkhana Headquarters.
After the incident, a case was first filed with Lalbagh thana and later another with New Market thana.
The Criminal Investigation Department indicted 824 BDR men and civilians on 24 criminal charges Monday in connection with the felonies committed during the mutiny.
