DHAKA: Police held a young girl with arms and ammunition in the city on Sunday night, indicating a new turn in the paradigm of crime.
Jatrabari Thana sub-inspector Majharul Islam said acting on intelligence report, they raided Selim Haji’s residence at Dholaipar Kobirajbagh village and held renter Minara Begum, 18, with a foreign-made 9mm pistol and two live bullets.
Minara claimed that the gun and the bullets belong to her husband Rajon Mia, a “professional snatcher”.
But Jatrabari thana police asserted that the teen has “expertise in loading and firing the pistol”.
A case was filed against Minara under the arms act with the police station. Police launched a hunt for Rajon, said to be husband of the teenager.
