Dhaka: A seven-story building tilted to one side at Uttar Begunbari area Friday, only three days after a house collapsed in the same area of the capital, and when the nation is fighting a grim fire tragedy in the city.
A fire unit and a team from RAJUK rushed to the spot and evacuated the residents from the building, fire-brigade sources said.
Abu Hashem, station officer of Tejgaon fire-service unit, said, “The house (holding no. 46/1/A) leant aside to the west and we have taken necessary measures.”
Earlier on June 1, a jerrybuilt five-story building collapsed onto tin-shed houses in the same area, killing 25 people and injuring dozens of others. Faulty design was primarily blamed for the collapse.
