DHAKA: The breakdown-ridden Bangura gas field in Comilla district resumed production on Thursday night with three of its four wells spewing the fossil fuel in full swing, officials said Friday.
Petrobangla Chairman Dr. Hossain Monsur told BanglaNews24.com.bd that operation of the three wells resumed on experimental basis, but the wells were running to their full capacity.
He said, “The fourth well is five kilometers away from the three, so it will be restarted by tomorrow (Saturday).
External Affairs Manager of Tullow Bangladesh Ataul Huq told BanglaNews24.com.bd that three wells are producing 90 million cubic feet of gas daily. About 100 meters of the pipe in the supply line, wrecked by a blast, has been replaced.
The joint of the supply line, which links with the processing plant, developed cracks because of an explosion with a big bang on June 7. The gas field used to produce 12 crore cubic feet of gas daily before the explosion.
