BARISAL: Police arrested three leaders of opposition Jamaat-e-Islami late Thursday on charges of obstructing the law enforcers’ official duty.  

The arrested are ABM Sultanul Arefin, 45, a college teacher and Ameer of Amanotganj-Kaunia unit, Jamaat acitvists Jahangir Talukder, 60, and Amirul Islam, 27.

Sub-inspector Alamgir Hossain of Kotwali thana filed a case against them.     

They were sent to jail as police produced them before the court on Friday.
