A Dhaka court today (Nov 20) placed former Bhola-4 lawmaker Abdullah Al Islam Jakob on a three-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of one Shamim Hawlader in the capital's Rupnagar area during the July-August mass uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Imran Ahammed passed the order.
Earlier today, police produced Jakob before the court and pleaded to place him on a 10-day remand in the case filed with the Rupnagar Police Station.
After the hearing, the court placed him on a three-day remand.
Jakob was arrested from the capital's Gulshan area on October 1.
Shamim Hawlader got shot on July 20 in Probeshika intersection area under Rupnagar Police Station in the capital.
Later, he died from his injuries in the hospital. Shamim's cousin Samrat later filed the case in this connection.
