DHAKA: Opposition BNP on Saturday said the government will be responsible if anything happens to its leader Chowdhury Alam.

“The prime Minister and the Home Minister will have to take the responsibility if anything sad happen to Alam,” BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Khondoker Mosharraf told a rally.

Dhaka City BNP organised the rally to press the government to announce the whereabouts of its leader Chowdhury Alam and release of detained party leaders.

Mosharraf bitterly criticised the government for, what he said, “autocratic rule” in dealing with the opposition.

Chaired by vice–chairman Sadek Hossen Khoka, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mian, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Aman Ullah Aman also spoke at the rally.
