NARAYANGANJ: Unidentified miscreants hacked to death a BNP leader in Sonargaon upazila of the district on Friday night. 

The deceased is Billal Hossain, 46, Sanmandi union BNP secretary and former union chairman under the upazila.  

Sonargaon Police Station officer-in-charge Riazul Huq said police recovered Billal’s body from a roadside ditch of Fatepur union around 9:30pm.  

He might have been killed by chopping with sharp weapons, OC added. 

Body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Allude to Billal was an accused of a case of attack on police and looting arms during a clash with ruling party leader Anwar Hosain over land dispute.
