DHAKA: Elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained four people for their alleged involvement with shooting former Chhatra League leader, also Awami League central committee member Enamul Haque Shamim.

RAB arrested them from capital’s Dhanmondi area on Tuesday dawn. 

RAB legal and media wing director ATM Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Details of the matter will be disclosed at a press briefing, he added.

On June 19 miscreants had fired at AKM Enamul Haque Shamim in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi.

Shamim served as BCL president from 1994 to 1998. He was also a BCL leader of Jahangirnagar University.

Hailing from Shariatpur, Shamim was vice president of JU Central Students’ Union from 1989 to 1991.
