Hasina urges DCs

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged to the Deputy Commissioners (DC) to deny the threat and temptation while doing lawful duties.

The premier made this remarks while inaugurated the Deputy Commissioner Conference-2014 in the seminar room of PM office in capital Tuesday.

Urging the high officials to be alert for public interest, Sheikh Hasina said, “no prejudiced activities would be allowed as Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners play a vital role to make the country flourishing and free from hunger, poverty, illiteracy, militancy and communalism.”   

The prime minister gave 24 instructions to the DCs and also pushed for taking special concern to rescue the rivers. 

She also yearned for the help of the officials to make the foods free from adulteration and harmful chemicals. 

Cabinet members, Secretary of different ministry and DCs, among others were present in the inaugurating program.

Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan addressed the welcome speech where Panchagar DC Md Salah Uddin, Rangamati DC Md Mostafa Kamal, Madaripur DC GSM Jafrullah and Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Abdul Jalil also delivered their speech.

They promised to work for the implementation of government’s Vision-2021.

Later, Hasina will join in an open discussion with the DC’s of Dhaka, Gazipur, Chittagong, Gopalganj, Sylhet, Pabna, Manikganj, Bhola, Rajshahi, Bramhanbaria and Satkhira districts in the Karabi Hall of PM’s office about the field level issues after the inaugurated program. 

After that the officials will join a photo session with the prime minister.

They will sit for first session meeting of the conference at 12:30 pm to discuss about four topics including restoration and maintaining the Asrayan project, upazila level e-service launch, establish an economic zone in Fulbari upazila fo Mymensingh and beginning national, divisional and district level e-award to inspire the employees of e-governence.  

Earlier, Hasina inaugurated the program at 10:00 am which first session was held in the PM’s office but main program will be held in the secretariat.
