DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed seven people, who were accused in attempt to murder Awami League central committee member Enamul Haq Shamim, on a five-day remand. 

The accused are Harun, Mehedi, Monir, Jewel Nazmul, Rana and Nur-e-Alam.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman passed the remand order when Sub-Inspector Matiur Rahman placed them before the court with 10-day remand plea.

Earlier, police arrested them on Tuesday from different places.

On June 19, miscreants opened gun fire aiming at Shamim at Dhanmondi in the capital.
