DHAKA: Deputy Commissioners (DCs) sought cooperation from the government in implementing Right to Information Act (RTIA) in field level.

They made the call in the first session of the last day of the DCs conference on Thursday morning, said Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu. 

Inu said “DCs sought cooperation from the government to make RTIA more effective, dynamic and realistic.”  

He also said there was no discussion about giving power to DCs to cancel declaration of any newspaper.

Cultural Minister Asaduzzaman Nur and Biren Sikdar were present during the first session.
