CHANDPUR: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhary Maya MP on Friday alleged that BNP is trying to mislead people by their speeches about arranging demonstrations against the government after the eid.

“Nothing can be achieved by telling lies to the countrymen. But we will keep ourselves aware after the eid and congratulate BNP if they do good deeds,” he added.

“But we also will occupy roads if they try to create anarchic situations,” he forewarned.

Minister made the assertions while visiting the place of Matlab Bridge area at noon.

Maya further said, “There won’t be any general elections before 2019 whatever BNP does or say. They have to wait as we believe in democracy.”

He also urged BNP to come to the path of democracy.

Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur Ismail Hossain, Superintendent of Police Amir Zafar, executive engineer of Roads and Highways Department and local Awami League leaders also were present here.
