DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday termed the incumbent government as ‘more dangerous’ than the government of Israel.
“Heinous activities, including murder, disappearance and abduction are being increased day by day by this repressive government, and the family whose members has been killed or disappeared is wailing,” he said.
The BNP leader came up with the observation while addressing an iftar party organized by Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Projonmo Dal (JMPD) at a restaurant in the city.
He added: “This immoral government is increasing the torture on people to uphold its power. They (government) want to stay in power forcibly, keeping people frightened.”
“The common people of the country have been hostage in their hands,” he also observed.
The BNP leader distributed cloths among the poor at the program.
With JMPD president Sama Oabeyed in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, Muktijoddha Dal Pesident Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat and Ulama Dal president Hafez Maulana Abdul Malek.
