DHAKA: Law Minister Anisul Haque on Wednesday labeled BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as a ‘fool’ for his remarks over comparing the Awami League (AL) government to the government of Israel.
Anisul came up with the observation while addressing a discussion meeting titled ‘Foreign Policy of Bangabangdhu: Successful Implementation of Sheikh Hasina’ organized by Bangabangdhu Ainjibi Parishad (BAP) at Supreme Court in the city.
On Tuesday, Fakhrul termed the incumbent government as ‘more dangerous’ than that of Israeli government at an iftar party organized by Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Projonmo Dal at a restaurant in the city.
Indicating Fakhrul’s remarks, he said, “There are several fools in the country; today, I saw its in newspaper, a fool (Fakhrul) said Awami League government is more dangerous than Israeli government.”
He also said, “He never went to Israel in his life, how big fool he (Fakhrul) is! If he went to Gaza, witnessed the scenario there he would not speak foolish.”
Presided over by BAP convener Advocate Abdul Baset, Attorney General Mahbub-e-Alam and AL advisory council member Yusuf Hossain Humayun, among others, spoke.
