DHAKA: Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Thursday said the British government is interested to strengthen bi-lateral relations with Bangladesh.
The foreign minister made the remark on Thursday at his office at a press briefing on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent UK visit.
He told the journalists that the UK government is interested to increase their cooperation with Bangladesh. British PM David Cameron expressed his keen interest to visit Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina went UK on July 21 on a three-day visit to attend the first Girl Summit-2014.
She met Cameron on the next day at latter’s office No. 10 Downing street.
PM Hasina met with UK minister of state in the Department for International Development Desmond Swayne, Shadow Foreign Secretary Douglas Alexander.
The premier also attended an Iftar party organized by Britain Awami League.
