DHAKA: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Sunday categorically said the elected government would not be ousted by any movement before completion of its tenure.
The health minister came up with the assertion while addressing a discussion meeting at the National Press Club in city.
He said, “No one succeeded to topple the any elected government from power in the country since 1990. So, no threatening of anti-government movement will be fruitful.”
Mohammad Nasim said it is not easy to enforce a successful movement. “It requires cause of life and properties. Right now, there is no strong issue in Bangladesh that deserves enforcement of movement,” said the ruling Awami League lawmaker.
With Advocate Tarana Halim in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by Awami League Organizing Secretary Shahe Alam Murad and Krishak League leader Jahangir Alam.
