DHAKA: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is not going to participate in the anti-government movement by BNP for protecting its central leaders.
The leaders of the party are not paying heed to the thumping of BNP leaders rather they are making fun of it.
A former Chhatra Shibir leader of Chittagong University, also current central executive member of Jamaat-e-Islami, told banglanews: “Where is the issue of staging movement?”
He added: “They (BNP) just have announced the Dhaka Metropolitan Committee but still there is some dispute is there. They have no leaders who can sacrifice.”
He also alleged that the then government successfully oversaw the January 5 general election as the so called ‘March for Democracy’ called by BNP was not successful.
“Ousting a government is a tall talk for a party who cannot stop the January 5 like election,” he lamented.
The Jamaat leader, wishing anonymity, also said, “Why should we spoil the condition which is stable for Jamaat-e-Islami?”
He also said the incumbent government has not been a source of our loss so far.
The Jamaat leader also claimed that they would not make the same mistake once again that claimed the life of one of their talented leaders like Quader Mollah.
