CHITTAGONG: Chittagong Metropolitan BNP President Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury Saturday said none involved with BNP or Awami League politics could create anarchy in the CCC over tender distribution.
“There was opportunity of corruption during the regime of last army-backed caretaker government. But, now things have changed and the new CCC mayor is always under the spotlight of media," he said at his Mehedibagh residence Saturday.
Amir Khasru, also the adviser to the BNP Chairperson, replied to the journalists on the implementation of newly elected mayor’s pledges and BNP’s expectation from Manjur.
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury was the chief election agent of mayor Manjur Alam in the Chittagong City Corporation election.
"BNP will help Manjur to implement his election pledges," said the BNP leader.
Senior Vice-President of city BNP Dastagir Chowdhury, Vice president Abu Sufian and BNP backed councilors were also present during the press meet.
