DHAKA: Six cocktails had been exploded Saturday in city’s Baitul Mukarram National Mosque area where war criminal Ghulam Azam’s body was taken for namaz-e-Janaza.
Law-enforcers could not immediately confirm the people behind the blasts.
On duty Banglanews Team said two cocktails were blasted at 11:30am in front of North Gate of Baitul Mukarram while another two in front of its South Gate.
The rest of cocktails were exploded in front of Azad Product of the area.
However, the body of war criminal and former Jamaat-e-Islami chief Ghulam Azam was brought for Namaz-e-Janaza at 1pm.
Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh Sommilito Islami Jote, Blogger online activist and Bangladesh Chhatra Moitree declared to protest the attempt to hold Ghulam Azam's namaz-e-janaza at the national mosque.
