RAJSHAHI: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Saturday termed Jamaat-e-Islami and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) masked devil.
The minister came up with the assertion while addressing a program of Rajshahi Awami League tri-annual council as chief guest at Dr Kaisar Rahman at Rajshahi Medical College in Rajshahi.
He said, “Jamaat-BNP betrayed the people of the country. Ruling Awami League has to be united in preventing them politically.”
Nasim also asked the Awami League leaders and activists to behave politely. “Otherwise, it will hamper their leader Sheikh Hasina’s image,” he said.
He also told his audience that any harm to Sheikh Hasina would hamper the country’s secular and democratic images.
Expressing his fear, Nasim said the Jamaat-BNP may make Bangladesh a communal country. “They will hinder the development of the country,” he said.
Regarding anti-government of BNP-Jamaat, he said they did not know how to wage movement, they only know vandalism.
Awami League central committee leaders Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Lt Col (retd) Muhammad Faruk Khan, Abdur Rahman, Akhtaruzzaman and Mirza Azam were among others present at the function.
