DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Sunday placed six Jubo Dal leaders and activists, including its president Moazzem Hossain Alal, on a three-day remand in a case filed on charges of planning to create sabotage during Islamic parties’ called hartal.
Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor passed the order after Sub-Inspector of Mohammadpur Thana Nayan Mia produced them before the court with a 10-day remand plea in the case filed on Saturday under the Special Power Act.
Another alleged Habibur Rahman Hawlader fell sick inside the courtroom before the hearing and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
The other 56 leaders and activists of the party were sent to jail after hearing.
On Saturday, acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive and arrested Alal and 62 leaders and activists of BNP from his Lalmatia residence in the city.
