DHAKA: Incumbent Awami League on Thursday sent a letter of expulsion of former minister Abdul Latif Siddique from the party to his permanent address.
Office Secretary of the party Abdus Sobhan Golap confirmed the matter to banglanews.
On October 24, former Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Abdul Latif Siddique was expelled from the party permanently for his remarks demeaning hajj, Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
The decision came from a party executive meeting that was presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of Awami League.
Earlier, Latif Siddique was expelled from the cabinet and party presidium.
