DHAKA: BNP joint general secretary Ruhul Kabir Ahmed Rizvi on Thursday claimed that Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wing of Awami League, killed at least 26 people in the last four years.
The BNP senior leader came up with the allegation while declaring his party’s programs to mark November 7 as ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’ at its central office in city’s Naya Paltan area on Thursday.
He said Dhaka Medical College BCL unit general secretary Abul Kalam Azad was killed on March 31 in 2009 in an internal clash. As continuation, at least 26 people were killed by BCL in their internal clashes.
BNP joint general secretary also alleged that several people including children have been killed for Juba League’s grabbing and tender businesses.
Bringing allegation against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that she is making all the organizations partisan, he said the Election Commission (EC) is a constitutional organization, which should be neutral.
But Hasina employed her supporters in several positions in EC to take the election in her favor, he added.
He added: “People of the country will oust the incumbent illegal government through tougher movement.”
BNP finance affairs secretary Abdus Salam, cultural affairs secretary Gazi Mazharul Anwar and Swechhasebak Dal general secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Safu, among others, were present at the event.
