DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has chalked out 10-day long programs marking ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’ that falls on November 7.
BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Ahmed Rizvi announced the program schedule at party headquarters in city’s Nayapaltan area on Thursday noon.
He said the 10-day program that began on November 5 will continue till November 14.
The programs include hoisting party flags at the party offices across the country at 6:00am on November 7.
Besides, BNP leaders and activists, led by its chairperson Khaleda Zia, will place floral wreath at the grave of former president and also BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and read fatiha at 10:00am in the day.
According to Rizvi, all out preparations have been taken to stage a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in city on November 8 marking the day.
Permission has been sought from the authorities concerned for the rally, but it has yet to be given, the BNP leader added.
He further said that discussions and other programs will be held across the country to mark the day with due fervor.
Moreover, BNP will observe Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani’s 38th death anniversary on November 17.
Regarding this, a committee has been formed with BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan as convener and BNP chairperson’s adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu as member secretary.
BNP finance affairs secretary Abdus Salam, cultural affairs secretary Gazi Mazharul Anwar and Swechhasebak Dal general secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Safu were among others present at the event.
