DHAKA: BNP called for a countrywide protest for Sunday as it did not get permission to hold rally at Suhrawardy Uddyan marking the ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’.
Acting Secretary General of the party Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement from a press briefing on Saturday noon.
Earlier, BNP sought permission to organize a rally at Suhrawardy Uddyan in city but the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) authorities denied.
Senior leaders of the party hold a meeting with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan political office Friday night and discussed next course of actions.
