DHAKA: A legal notice was issued against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman for making derogatory remarks over Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The SC Bar Association former secretary and also Awami League central committee member Advocate Momtaz Uddin Ahmed Mehedi sent the notice on Sunday.
According to the notice, a case will be filed against Tarique if he denies withdrawing his remarks and seeking unconditional pardon to the people within seven days.
The SC lawyer claimed that Tarique termed Bangabandhu killer at a program organized by United Kingdom BNP in London.
The BNP senior leader also said the people of the country always want to see Bangabandhu as a hero. But, he felt secured in Pakistan.
Indicating Tarique, it said, “You make yourself garrulous, unwise and immature person as his remarks is offensive and politically impolite. That remarks violate the constitution and same as sedition.”
It added: “So Tarique should withdraw his derogatory remarks and have to seek pardon to the people or will face case.”
