DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 has fixed November 16 as the date of presenting arguments against Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Subhan on legal points as the prosecution’s arguments on allegations completed on Wednesday.
The three-member tribunal led by Justice Obaidul Hassan fixed the date.
On November 5, Chief Prosecutor Golam Arif Tipu started presenting the arguments.
Later, prosecutors Sultan Mahmud Simon and Rejia Sultana Chaman presented arguments on all nine allegations of Abdus Subhan’s involvement with crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
Judicial procedures of the case will be complete through placing arguments by the lawyers of Subhan.
On September 20 in 2012, Sobhan was arrested following a warrant issued against him by a Pabna court.
Later, he was shown arrested in the case of committing crimes against humanity during the war.
According to the prosecution, Sobhan was the Pabna chapter Jamaat Ameer just before the liberation war and had formed Peace Committee, Al-Badr and Razakar (collaborating forces) in his locality and committed crimes against humanity there.
