JESSORE: A court on Sunday sent 32 leaders and activists of BNP-led 20-party alliance including Jessore municipality mayor Maruful Islam to jail in a case filed under Explosive and Anti Terrorism Acts.

District Senior Judicial Magistrate Court’s judge Maruf Ahmed Abu Ibrahim delivered the order after alliance men appeared on the court seeking bail at noon.

GRP Thana Sub-Inspector Shafiuddin of the district Cognizance Court confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On October 1, Kotwali police filed a case against several hundred people naming 123 alliance men following a clash with police during a human chain in front of the district press club.
