DHAKA: Opposition BNP`s Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan Sunday accused Awami League government of hatching conspiracy against peaceful demonstration by the party.
“The government is hatching conspiracy against our peaceful demonstration of mass procession," he said after visiting Paltan Maidan where his party will gather on Monday for an anti-government demonstration.
He castigated the government for not preparing the ground for them. “We have paid Tk 1.5 lakh for the allotment but the government did not prepare it."
Khan said the government granted the allotment at the eleventh hour despite the opposition applied for it long ago.
The BNP will bring out a mass procession on Monday from the Maidan at 3pm, led by its chairperson Khaleda to protest government’s “misrule”, “repression” on opposition leaders and journalists, and “terrorism, tender-manipulation, grabbing and admission trade” by Chhatra League activists.
