DHAKA: Opposition BNP Secretary-General Khandaker Delwar Hossain Monday asked the government not to mess up the trial of 21 August grenade attack like the BDR murder case.
“Don’t use any case for political aggrandizement so that the real criminal be out of touch,” he said addressing a rally organized by Swechhasebak Dal to protest the cancellation of parole for Koko, younger son of party chairperson Khaleda Zia, at city’s Muktangan.
He urged the government to shun the `path of suicide` and said, "Every attack has its counter-attack."
Delwar said many industries of the country were shut and that benefited aliens. He demanded immediate reopening of the closed industries.
Bitterly criticising the government, Delwar said the ministers as well as “the Prime Minister herself” commented on under-investigation cases.
“How the investigators would probe fairly?” he questioned.
Swecchasebak Dal president Habibunnabi Sohel chaired the rally while BNP Senior joint secretary-general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, general secretary of Swecchasebak Dal Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu and organizing secretary Shafiul Bari Babu also spoke.
