DHAKA: A Dhaka court granted bail to detained BNP Standing Committee member and ex-minister Mirza Abbas in the latest two cases filed with Mirpur and New Market thanas on charges of torching and vandalizing cars.
With these two bail orders, the BNP leader got interim release in all six cases filed against him.
Metropolitan Magistrates Kamrun Nahar Rumi and Ismail Hossain passed the orders separately in response to two bail petitions filed for Abbas.
Earlier on Saturday, he was shown arrested in two new cases filed with Mirpur and New Market thanas for torching and vandalising vehicles the day before the BNP-enforced June 27 hartal, two days after he secured bail in last three cases from the higher court.
Mirza Abbas was held from the city’s Shahjahanpur area during picketing in the hartal hours.
