SHERPUR: Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury underscored the merit of voting for her party saying that if people vote for Awami League, they live in peace and if for BNP, they suffer from disquieting disturbances.
"If you want to remain in peace, cast vote for Awami League and if you want to remain in turbulence, vote for BNP," she said while handing out relief at Nalitabari in the district.
"You the common people are the owner of vote. You can cast your vote wherever you like. Cast vote after thinking over the matter," said the Awami League leader.
She also said an Awami League government is the `giver` while the other government is `taker`.
Everybody pledges to be giver in assuming power, but they do not develop the country, she alleged.
Deputy Commissioner M Nasiruzzaman, Acting Police Super Anisur Rahman, Upazila Chairman Badiuzzaman Badshah and Upazila Awami League President and Municipal Mayor Abdul Halim Ukil were among others present at the programme.
