CHANDPUR: Home Minister Sahara Khatun Sunday claimed that different quarters are out to save the war criminals and said the “fangs of the evil forces have to be broken off”.
“Some vested quarters are cooking up conspiracy against the trial of war criminals. They are even threatening judges and investigating officers,” she said.
“So, the law-enforcers have been put on the alert,” said the internal security minister while inaugurating the newly built district jail Sunday.
The district jail was constructed on 9.5 acres of land at a cost of Tk 23 crore.
Sahara called upon the pro-liberation people to be united alongside the government so that none could hinder the trial of war criminals on the soil of Bangladesh.
Later, the Minister attended a meeting on law-and-order situation at the DC office.
Deputy Commissioner Priyotosh Saha, Police Super Shahidullah Chowdhury, poura mayor Nasir Uddin Ahmed, central Awami League leader Sujit Roy Nandi and District Awami League president Dr. Shamsul Haque Bhuyan also spoke on the occasion.
