DHAKA: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia Friday expressed concern over the burning of the holy Quran.
She urged the US government to be careful so that no citizens of the United States of America can do such activities like burning the holy book of Islam.
The concern came through the press wing of the BNP chairperson on Friday night.
She also condemned the ruling Awami League government for not giving any reaction over this act of sacrilege.
Begum Zia felt frustrated for the silence of the government, a spokesman for the press wing told banglanews.
She said,” If the Quran was burnt, it would be an extreme assault on the Muslims and Islam.”
“World peace might be hampered following the incident,” the ex-PM was further quoted as saying.
