DHAKA: State Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Advocate Quamrul Islam categorically said there is no option to sworn in for any ‘non-elected government’.
He also expressed hope that all parties will participate in the next general polls under an interim government.
The minister came up with the assertion while addressing a rally of ruling Awami League at Suhrawardy Uddyan in the capital around 3.00pm Friday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League organized the rally to mark the National Mourning Day.
While addressing the rally, Member of the Parliament of Dhaka-12 constituency, Barister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh demanded the next election within December this year.
With acting president of Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League MA Aziz in the chair, the rally was attended, among others, by AL leader Mohammad Nasim, Ameer Hossain Amu, Suranjit Sengupta and Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim.
