JS polls to be held even sans BNP

SIRAJGANJ: Ruling Awami League Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim on Wednesday categorically said next general election would be held as per Constitution even if BNP does not participate in the polls.

“Most of the political parties and people will take part in the next general election,” he said.

The former minister of the came up with the assertions in a view exchange meeting held after the extended meeting of district Awami League at Circuit House in the district in the afternoon.

Nasim also said, “BNP has failed to get hold of the train of movements and involvement with the people as they are trying to save the war criminals.”

Awami League presidium member also said: “As per Constitution, the election will be held in January … there will be a small cabinet led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the election.”

He added: “The administration will be under the authority of Election Commission (EC) and the EC will conduct the election.”

Director of Bangladesh Medical Research Council Alhajj Professor Dr Habibe Millat Munna, acting president of district Awami League Mostafizur Rahman BSc and general secretary Advocate KM Hossain Ali Hasan were among present at the function.
