DHAKA: Bangladesh cricket would be developed with the assistances of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and International Cricket Council (ICC) within next two years, said Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president on Tuesday.

BCB boss A H M Mustafa Kamal MP, in a press conference, also hoped, “The ICC president Sharad Power will create opportunity to the Bangladesh cricket for its betterment during his two-year term.”

Earlier on June 30, the BCB chief Kamal became the ACC president in its annual general meeting in Singapore.

Bangladesh supported Mr. Power to be ICC president in the annual meeting last Friday in Singapore. The ACC chairperson hoped, former president of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) power would cooperate Bangladesh as a neighboring country.’

Explaining his two years of plan to develop the regional cricket, he said, the ACC would arrange different types of tournaments with participation of less developing cricket nations like China, Nepal and Afghanistan. Under-19 tournament will be given priority in the connection, Kamal added.

BCB president also put emphasis on the development of national cricket by building international standard wickets and grounds.

“The national team management supporting staff including bowling and fielding coaches would be recruited,” he added.

Kamal said, BCB negotiated with two renowned cricketer’s --former Indian national captain Shourov Gunguly and South African great Jonty Rhodes who later agreed to assist the national team as ‘advisor coach’ for two or three weeks.
