The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today (Jan 6) issued arrest warrants for former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 11 others, including her former Defense Adviser Maj Gen (Retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed.

The warrants were issued in connection with two cases involving allegations of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances.

Presided over by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumdar, the tribunal issued the orders following two petitions submitted by the prosecution seeking the arrest of the 11 individuals.

The tribunal has directed authorities to arrest Sheikh Hasina and the others and present them before the court by February 12.
