DHAKA: The arrest of an army officer in connection with the recovery of some phensidyl syrup is an “isolated” incident and investigation into the matter has already started, said ISPR.
A press release issued by the military press wing Friday said, “Punishment would be awarded after speedily completing the investigation so that army’s discipline and image is not undermined.”
It said that on July 15 night, an army officer was held by police on the west side of Bangabandhu Bridge while coming in his own car to Dhaka from Naogaon. “On search, some phensidyl was found on the car.”
Shortly getting information about the matter, army authorities took back the officer from Sirajganj police on that night, the ISPR release said.
