KOLKATA: While the chief of India’s dreaded separatist outfit ULFA is caged in jail, one of his two sons trained in sporting while in Bangladesh will now go scatting at national level in his homeland.

Iseng Rajkhowa, son of Arabinda Rajkhowa, the chief of the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), is all set to participate in the National Roller Skating Competition in India.

A competent source said the 14-year-old Iseng started taking lessons on roller-skating at school during his stay in Bangladesh.

Recently, he took part in a training camp at Don Bosco School in Guwahati. Assam Government organized the camp to select participants for the national competition. Iseng surprised everyone by his performance in the competition.

Kaveri Kachhari, wife of Rajkhowa, said her two sons--Iseng and Gadadhar--got primary lessons on skating in Bangladesh. “After returning to Assam, I’ve taken my elder son here for higher training,” Kaveri told journalists.

The State Skating Organization authorities said that Iseng’s skating gambits left them completely surprised. And he was selected for the upcoming National Skating Competition.

ULFA chief Arabinda Rajkhowa is now detained in Guwahati jail.

Earlier, the Indian government had claimed that Rajkhowa, his wife Kaveri and their two children surrendered before the Border Security Force of India on Dec 4, 2009.

While Rajkhowa was later arrested on arrival in Guwahati, the family members were not charged and let off.
