RAJSHAHI: Students led by Chhatra League Sunday observed a wildcat strike at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) to press home their seven-point demand.
The demands include trial for police action on general students and trial of Shibir activists responsible for the killing of BCL activist Faruk, naming the girl students’ hall after the Prime Minister and solving students’ accommodation problem.
No classes were held at the engineering university on the day, campus sources said, as the RUET virtually remained under a siege.
Leaders and workers of BCL, the student wing of ruling Awami League, put the classrooms under lock and key in the morning and brought out a procession on the campus.
