DHAKA: State Minister for Forest and Environment Dr Hasan Mahmud has said the US government will provide Tk 210 crore to combating the challenges of climate change.

The support is a part of US government’s grand `Support Services for Low Emission Development` project under which 18 least developed countries including Bangladesh will receive the fund, he said.

The state minister’s remark came following a meeting with a USAID delegation led by Danish Sharma, Acting Director USAID, at the Secretariat.

With the aid, Bangladesh will develop environment act and sustainable economic development of vulnerable areas, he added.
