KHULNA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to visit the Aila-affected areas in Koyra upazila in Khulna and Shyamnagar in Satkhira Friday on a daylong trip, as thousands of victims of the super-cyclone remained in abject misery.
The Prime Minister would inaugurate distribution of grants among the affected people, reports banglanews24.com.bd correspondent.
Regarding the visit, a preparatory meeting presided over by deputy commissioner of Khulna Jomsher Ahmed Khondokar was held at his office. State minister for labour and employment Begum Monnujan Sufian was also present.
The meeting was told that the administration has taken “all-out measures to make the PM’s visit a success”.
During the tour, she is also expected to inaugurate the Choddoroshi Bridge in Satkhira.
Meanwhile, a non-government platform at a press meet at DRU Tuesday said it would hand over a 10-point recommendation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her visit for the wellbeing of the Aila-affected people.
This will be her first visit here after assuming power.
