More suspects in queue to stand war-crime trial: Law Minister

DHAKA: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafiq Ahmed said more suspects would be run in to stand war- crime trial based on investigation findings.

He made the comment to journalists following a discussion meeting on ‘Role of Marriage Registrars in Preventing Child Marriage’, organized by Muslim Marriage Registrars` Association at the BMA Bhaban.

He said, "There is no question of forgiving the war criminals because the war-crime trial is being held without political prejudice."  

The trial would not be held on the basis of a single case rather separate cases for violation of human rights during the 1971 liberation war, filed in different places in the country, would be brought under the tribunal, he added.

Judicial junction of the International (Crimes) Tribunal starts Sunday, with some of the probe reports already submitted by the investigation agency under the tribunal.
