DHAKA: The High Court Monday ordered the government not to bar Jobo Dal president Moazzem Hossain Alal from going abroad.
At the same time, the HC bench of Justice Mamnun Rahman and Justice Seyda Afsar Jahan issued a rule asking the government to explain why the restrictions imposed on his foreign trips “should not be declared illegal”.
Facing the fence, Moazzem Hossain Alal filed a writ petition with the High Court on July 26.
In the petition Alal alleged that the Immigration Authority intercepted him at Shahjalal International Airport on June 8 and prevented him from leaving the country “without showing any cause”.
Court sources said the government side took time trice for hearing the petition.
Senior lawyer of the Supreme Court Advocate Jainul Abedin and Advocate Gazi Giasuddin stood for Alal in the legal battle they won.
