Brickfield manager killed in Natore

NATORE: Assailants killed a brickfield manager in Goraimati area of Boraigram upazila early Friday.

The deceased, Mohadev Saha, 52, manager of NKB brickfield, hailed from Anupampur village in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi district.

Boraigram thana OC Anwar Hossain said that armed assailants, numbering 5/6, picked up Saha and night-guard Shafiqul from the brickfield took to Bonpara-Iswardi road, 200 yards from their workplace, at around 2 am.

They tied up both hands and legs of Shafiqul and struck Saha on the head with bricks, killing him on the spot. Later, the assailants left the place.

A patrol police team rescued Shafiqul before dawn and retrieved the body of Saha in the morning. The body was sent to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue.

“The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately,” the OC said, adding that the night guard was being interrogated.
