CHITTAGONG: Students of Chittagong University Saturday brought out a procession carrying black flags and staged a rally protesting police action on the demonstrating students on August 2.

The procession started in the morning from in front of the central Shaheed Minar and terminated at the Chittagong Press Club where a rally was also held.

The students, in the rally, alleged the CU Vice-chancellor and the Proctor instructed the law enforcers to take action against the students.

They also demanded resignation of the VC and the Proctor for letting loose the law enforcers on the students.

The students also demanded withdrawal of extra tuition fee and cases filed against the students, releasing detained students and withdrawal of the ban from holding all kinds of political activities, rally and procession on the campus.

Chittagong University was declared closed on August 2 amid a campus violence that left over 100 injured.
