Govt. to resolve complexities over vested properties soon: Land Minister

JAMALPUR: Land Minister Rezaul Karim Hira Saturday said the government would resolve the complexities over vested property soon.

"The government would take necessary initiatives to reclaim government land from grabbers," Hira said while inaugurating a newly constructed land office at Sadar upazila here.  

Complexities are there in 187,000 acres of land, which the government would resolve soon and reclaim 470,000 acres of land from illegal grabbers, according to Hira.

He said the government has also planned to digitise the land record system with a cost of Tk 2,000 crores.

Initiatives will be taken to reclaim grabbed canals of Dhaka city, he added.

Later, the Minister distributed micro-credit to 72 destitute women at Jamalpur Public Library auditorium organised by Jatiya mahila Sangstha.

Sadar Upazila Chairman Bijan Kumar Chand, Awami League leader Syed Atiqur Rahman Chhana and Acting SP Joydev Chowdhury also spoke at the programme with Deputy Commissioner Siraj Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
